When President Muhammadu Buhari launched last week the national re-orientation campaign branded “Change begins with me”, public opinion concluded that he was on a trajectory to baptise and consecrate an old programme that failed more than three decades ago.
The launch brought back painful memories of the much maligned and
controversial War Against Discipline crusade that marked the high point
of Buhari’s tenure, as a military dictator between December 1983 and
August 1985.
