Nigeria’s Federal Government said Thursday that it had received news of
the ousting of President Mohammed Morsi of Egypt and the suspension of
the country’s constitution with serious concern.
Egyptian Armed Forces overthrew the first democratically elected
President of Egypt after protesters gathered near the Presidential
Palace for days.
Nigeria’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs released a statement referring to the developments as "a truncation of the aspirations of the Egyptian people to freely express themselves through the ballot box."
