Divisional Police Officer of Pen Cinema Police Division, Segun Fabunmi,
who was accused of killing one Adedamola Daramola has been released on
bail.
Fabunmi was said to have shot Adedamola
and injured three others at Yaya-Abatan, Agege, Lagos, during the
January 2012 protest against the removal of fuel subsidy.
had reported that
Fabunmi, who is standing trial at a Lagos High Court, Igbosere, was also
charged with attempted murder and causing grievous bodily harm on Alimi
Abubakar, Egbujor Samuel and Chizorba Odoh.
Justice Olabisi Akinlade had on July 4,
2013, granted Fabunmi bail due to poor health and admitted him to bail
in the sum of N250m with two sureties in like sum. She said the two
sureties must be resident in Lagos and had three years tax clearance.
Akinlade added that one of them must
have landed property worth N100m, while the other must be a director in
either the state or federal civil service.
