Lagos
State Deputy Governor Adejoke Orelope-Adefulire has taken local
governments and local council development areas in the state to task on
skill acquisition programmes.
She urged them to mobilise their
residents to embrace the programmes of the state government, noting that
they were the key ways of eradicating poverty and achieving economic
prosperity.
Orelope-Adefulire, represented by
Vincent Abimbola, a director in the Ministry of Women Affairs and
Poverty Alleviation, made the appeal at the closing ceremony of the
short term skill acquisition programmes at Mosan-Okunola Local Council
Development Area.
At the ceremony, no fewer than 800
beneficiaries were presented with certificates, after four weeks of
intensive training in various vocations.
