Baby Whose Penis Was Caught Off By His Stepmother Dies

Baby Dauda, who made news after his stepmother cut off his genitals in Niger state is dead. He died following a brief illness.  Mariam Kolo, the DG of the Child's Right Agency confirmed the development to PUNCH Metro on Wednesday, saying the baby had malaria causing his temperature to rise. She added that despite everything administered he still died.

Kolo told Punch Metro that the victim had been slated for a genital transplant in the United Kingdom before he died.

She said the sickness was not a relapse of his earlier medical condition as he had been doing well after going through a series of corrective surgeries.

Kolo expressed sadness at the death of the baby.

On June 18, 2016, Dauda, who was two-month-old at the time, lost his genitals after a savage attack by his 17-year-old stepmother, Bara’atu Rabiu.

Rabiu, who cut off the genitals, did not give any reason for her action.

The state government had stepped in to salvage the situation and was planning corrective surgeries for the victim when he died.
