Rapist Gets 13 Years For Three-Day Attack On Student

A rapist has been jailed for 13 years after holding his victim captive for three days. Jordan Smith, 21, kept the university student quiet by threatening to shoot her father if she made a sound.

He punched her repeatedly on the head, stomach, hips and thighs while he also said he would stab or shoot her.

Smith made the threat to kill the victim’s father when she came to his house in Chingford, East London, to try and find her.

He returned the next day and the victim broke down, telling him what had happened. Smith told police that they had had consensual sex and denied holding her against her will.

But the jury found him guilty of two counts of rape, one of assault occasioning actual bodily harm, false imprisonment and assault by penetration.

The student’s best friend was also trying to contact her and eventually found an address for Smith’s house in an old chat log. She passed it on to her family.

Prosecutor Alison Hunter said the ‘once out-going young lady is now much more closed in terms of her social life’ which has been ‘severely curtailed’.
Kate Roxburgh, defending, said Smith will need to do ‘a lot of growing up over the next few years’.

Judge David Radford told Smith: ‘Smith, of Chingford, was jailed for a total of 12 years for two counts of rape, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, assault by penetration and false imprisonment.’

He must also serve 12 months consecutive for breaching a previous suspended sentence and was slapped with an indefinite restraining order barring any contact with his victim or her family.
