The remains of 32-year-old Dapo Olasore, who was allowed to
drown by officers of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, have been
recovered by residents of the Agboyi Community in the Alapere area of Lagos
State. It was learnt that the body of the victim floated around 9pm on Monday.
Dapo had fallen into a river when officials of the NDLEA
stormed his vicinity, but the men allegedly asked a boat operator who had
wanted to rescue him not too.
A resident who confirmed the body, said; “His remains have
been found. His body floated around 9pm some distance away from where he
drowned; it was bloated and smelly.”
His relatives from Ibadan have also started arriving for his burial. But said they would have to first get a police report to avoid any form of trouble with the authorities. Some traditional rites will also be carried out before he is finally buried. May his soul rest in peace
