Another Set Of Lagos Workers Protest Non Payment Of Salaries

Lol, Governor Ambode has heard it in these past days. So after midwives marched to Alausa to protest the non-payment of their salaries yesterday, hundreds of highway sweepers under the Lagos State Waste Management Authority (LAWMA) shortly after that stormed the Lagos State House of Assembly protesting non-payment of their salary arrears by the state government.
According to them, the State Government owes them for five months. They carried placards which read “We deserve to be paid for our toiling”; “Life is now difficult, save us from poverty”; “Help us, we have suffered much,” among others.

A sweeper in Lagos is paid between N12, 000- N20, 000 monthly.
