Lea Michele couldn’t be more thankful for her boyfriend Matthew Paetz. In a sweet Instagram tribute, the Glee alum wished Paetz happy 30th birthday while thanking him for making her “smile again” following her late boyfriend Cory Monteith’s July 2013 death.
“Matthew, thank you for bringing such happiness into my life. For making me smile again and bringing such a bright joy into my every day…Thank you for loving me and my family…And of course Sheila too…May this be the happiest Birthday ever!,” Michele, 28, dedicated an Instagram to her beau, who turned 30 on Sunday, May 17.
The Scream Queens star’s tribute comes just one week after she wished her late boyfriend Monteith happy birthday on May 11. "I know you're serenading everyone right now," she tweeted on what would have been his 33rd birthday. "We love you Cory! Happy birthday."
Following Monteith’s death — the Glee actor died of an overdose in July 2013 — Michele started dating model Paetz in June 2014 after meeting on set of her “On My Way” music video.
"I feel like it's so important to make sure that I'm 100 percent okay before I can get into a relationship," Michele told Glamour UK in February 2014. "But people have to understand that I can't be alone forever. Cory wouldn't want that."
