The son of Fuji act Obesere has gone into the family business. Lekan Akande who
is a second year student of Online Marketing at Griffith College in
Dublin, Ireland is involved in music as the owner of a record label R- Entertainment that he created in 2013.
He has two Nigerian acts on his imprint, Beezy and Sajan. In an interview with Punch, Lekan Akande spoke on why he is not involved with Fuji music. "I
did not want to be involved with Fuji music because my great-grand
father was a Fuji musician same as my father. Two of my father’s younger
brothers are also Fuji musicians" he said.
"I
did not toe that path because I wanted to be different and I always
think outside the box. I do not want to repeat the things that my father
has done, I want to do things my own way. I think it makes a lot of
sense to do things my way with the knowledge I have" he further said.
Lekan Akande also cancelled out the probability of him signing his father to his label.
