Johnny Depp apparently wants to have a naked image of the Duchess of Cambridge
in his home – if not his mind – so he bought a nude portrait of the
pregnant Kate Middleton from street artist, Pegasus for a five figure
sum!
He also requested for the artist to create
another nude painting of the Princess with a crown resting on her baby
bump. He has titled the new painting, "Crowned".
The 51-year-old actor previously spent £25,000 buying a portrait of Queen Elizabeth on his visit to the opening of Pegasus' art gallery in Islington, north London on Sunday December 7.
In a statement to Metro newspaper, Pegasus's manager, Leonard Villa said, 'I
knew Johnny was coming and wanted the two Kate Middleton works. I
didn’t even tell my wife and daughters, but I was expecting him. He was
extremely charming and immediately bought the painting and put down an
offer for the second one. Everything at the opening of Pegasus’ gallery
sold within 15 minutes. He can’t fulfill his orders fast enough at the
moment.'
Meanwhile, Kate – who has 16-month-old son, Prince George with the second-in-line to the throne – is due to give birth to her second child in April 2015.
