Schoolboy, 15, dies during gym workout at Bowen

 
THE Bowen community is in mourning following the tragic death of 15-year-old Braidon Mcleod, who died suddenly while exercising at a gym.
The teenager was participating in a personal training session yesterday afternoon when he started experiencing difficulties and stopped breathing.
Braidon could not be revived by CPR and was rushed to Bowen Hospital, where he was pronounced dead about 5pm.
It is understood the Bowen State High School student had recently embarked on an exercise program in an attempt to improve his fitness.

Last Friday his personal trainer congratulated him on his efforts and he had also received encouragement from friends and family online.
Braidon’s devastated family and friends also have expressed their grief on social media since he passed away.
His uncle Gary Mcleod was not ready to talk about his nephew, but left a heartbreaking post on Facebook in the hours following his death.
“Sometimes life is just not fair,” Mr Mcleod said.
Family photos show a happy young man who was very close to his mother, Susan Mcleod.
Ms Mcleod proudly displays photos of Braidon at different throughout his life and only last week told the world how much she loved her son.
“Lucky enough to have this exact feeling last night, saying goodnight to my boy, and thinking my love for him is the purest most unconditional in the world, and how lucky am I to have that! Love you Braidon Mcleod!!ox,” she said.
An apparent a rugby league fan and Sydney Roosters supporter, Braidon was visibly delighted at meeting football stars Anthony Minichiello and Sonny Bill Williams earlier this year.
Friends have rallied behind his family and shared fond memories of their time with Braidon.
Lachlan Jay Freeman described Braidon as “the greatest, funniest, nicest, most amazing and the funniest friend anyone could ever have”.
“He will live on in all of us for the rest of our lives and we should live knowing that this great person has at some point or another made our lives better,” he said.
Luke Parter said: “May God Bless you brother, every time I would see you, you would take the time to say hello to me, which believe me brightens my day (sic).”
A report on the circumstances surrounding Braidon’s death is being prepared for the coroner and a police spokesperson said Workplace Health and Safety would investigate.
