Friendship turns into romance: A third of Aussies fall for our friends

Greg Hysted and Chloe Rew who were friends for five months before romance developed.
Partners Greg Hysted, 26, and Chloe Rew, 27, believe their initial friendship is the reason their romance has been so successful.
“I really knew Chloe so well as a person before we dated — I knew what she liked, what her passions were, what her beliefs were,” Mr Hysted said.

“Some relationships start quickly without knowing much at all and they often end just as quickly.”
The couple met as English teachers in Japan in 2011 and quickly became friends, travelling and dining together for about five months before the relationship developed.
They now live together in Essendon and Ms Rew, who was born and raised in Canada, plans to make Melbourne home.
The Intrepid Travel research found 30 per cent of Aussies have been lucky in love while travelling.
