A fully clothed Kim Kardashian and Kanye West on the cover of Vogue
was one of the most shocking things to happen in the fashion world in
2014 causing many to question the value of the magazine. Now,
editor-in-chief, Anna Wintour claims the magazine sometimes needs 'controversy' to be the most talked about!
“I
have a long history of putting controversial celebrities – such as
Madonna – on the cover of the magazine and helping to make them part of
the establishment.” Wintour said in a recent interview with Time
magazine on Monday Nov.17 at the Metropolitan Museum of Arts New York.
The
fashion mogul said being the #worldsmosttalkedaboutmagazine has always
been the goal but also made mention of the fact that they needed NOT so
'deeply tasteful' people to achieve that goal.
“I
think if we just remain deeply tasteful and just put deeply tasteful
people on the cover it would be a rather boring magazine,” Wintour said.
“Nobody would talk about us. It’s very important that people do talk
about us.”
Did Wintour just throw some major shade
on the controversial couple especially after Kim put her greasy butt,
boobs and fake waste line on the cover of a secondary mag like 'Paper”?
Well, its likely Vogue needed sales
and publicity and got Kim for that! Because Anna told Time: “I hope
another Kim Kardashian comes this year!” Wintour concluded. The Internet
has been warned... Could we expect a nude bod on Vogue next?
However, on the bright side, the highly respected fashion guru did say great things about Kim's step sister, Kendall's latest Estée Lauder deal. She said: “ Estée Lauder’s decision to make Kendall their new face was fantastic.
