BRITISH authorities have arrested
two people on terror charges as it continues to conduct counter-terror
operations related to Syria at a brisk pace.
LONDON'S Metropolitan Police said in a statement on Wednesday that a
25-year-old woman was arrested in Bedfordshire, north of London, on
suspicion of planning a terror act. Police raided two properties as part
of the investigation.
A second person, a 32-year-old man, was
arrested on suspicion of attending a place used for terrorist training.
Two London addresses were being searched. Authorities have
expressed increasing alarm over Britons attracted to the Islamic State
militant group, particularly young people recruited through the use of
social media. Last week, police said they had made 218 terrorism arrests so far this year.
