Girl’s evil plot to kill parents

THE parents of a 15-year-old girl accused of plotting to murder them say they were pursuing sexual assault charges against the teen’s 23-year-old boyfriend before last Friday’s attack in their home.

Laurene and Jeffrey Sikorski told reporters Thursday their daughter Roksana ran away this past summer with Michael Rivera but later returned home. They said she met Rivera on Facebook.
Authorities say Roksana Sikorski stabbed her 12-year-old brother multiple times in the throat early last Friday morning at the family’s home as she set in motion a plot to kill her parents and siblings. Police say Rivera was texting her directions from outside the home during the attack, which was interrupted by the boy’s screams, causing the teen and Rivera to flee.


The 15-year-old, who is charged as an adult, Thursday morning entered “not guilty” pleas through her attorney to four counts of conspiracy to commit murder and one count of assault with intent to murder. Rivera was arraigned on similar charges Sunday.
Judge James Plakas in 35th District Court set Sikorski’s bond at $1 million and made an unusual exception of allowing the girl to have contact with two of the alleged victims: her parents.

Laurene and Jeffrey Sikorski, who adopted Roksana and her younger brother and sister more than 10 years ago from a Polish orphanage, were in court Thursday morning for the arraignment, ready to support their daughter.
“We have a very strong bond with our daughter,” Laurene Sikorski, 55, the girl’s adoptive mother said. “We’d like to be supportive at this time, and I think it’s important that we do have contact with her.”
Roksana Sikorsi is prohibited from contacting her biological brother and sister, 12 and 11.
The boy was hospitalised after the attack but is expected to make a full recovery, police said. Sikorski, a ninth-grader at Salem High School in Canton, was adopted at 4 1/2 years old, said her Detroit attorney Leslie Posner. She said the teen had a “horribly traumatic background” as a small child before being adopted.
The parents said the three adopted children came from an abusive, neglectful household before they arrived at the orphanage. They said they have no regrets about adopting them more than 10 years ago.
“They are my children; they pick up my mannerisms,” Laurene Sikorski said. “You teach them as best you can ... We go to church.” She said they want their daughter to receive treatment and eventually return home. She also said the girl has friends, and it was unexpected earlier this year when she began to act differently. Posner said it appears the girl has reactive attachment disorder, a mental illness resulting from traumatic situations early in life.
The attack occurred about 2am last Friday at the family’s home. Prosecutors say Roksana Sikorski and Rivera conspired to kill her family and run away together.
Rivera, who is held on a $100,000 bond, was arraigned Sunday and is scheduled for a preliminary exam on Oct. 31.
