Former Rangers star Kal Naismith has paid tribute to his girlfriend after she died on Thursday aged just 22.
It's believed Ashley Dickson, from Glasgow, passed away following a long-term illness.
22-year-old midfielder Kal, who now plays for Accrington Stanley in League Two, posted on Twitter about his partner.
He wrote: "Ashley I miss you like crazy I would give anything in the world to be able to cuddle you. You'll always be mine and I'll always be yours."
Hundreds of tributes have been posted on social media as grieving friends and family learned of her death.
It's understood Ashley worked in Cruise in Glasgow.
Naismith has had previous loan spells at Cowdenbeath and Partick Thistle and also represented Scotland at under-16 and under-17 level.
Football fans last night took to Twitter to express their condolences to Ashley’s loved ones.
Davie Shanks tweeted: “My thoughts are with Kal Naismith and all the family at this sad time”
Ewan McQueen posted: “Awful news about former Rangers player Kal Naismith’s girlfriend passing away. Thoughts with him right now.
Adam Shaw tweeted: “horrible news to hear about Kal Naismith’s girlfriend. thoughts are with him and Ashley’s family!”
Jade wrote: “Feel so so sorry for Kal Naismith such tragic news about his girlfriend.”
And Gurdep posted: “My Thoughts & prayers are with Kal Naismith and the family of his girlfriend, RIP Ashley”
Naismith and fellow Rangers starlet Kyle Hutton hit the headlines in 2010 after a thug abducted and threatened to kill them.
Paul Hislen and his accomplice Ryan Moore bundled the two players into the back of Hutton's Audi A3 in Edinburgh city centre.
Moore then drove the footballers through the city before dumping them in the Niddrie area.
