HR manager was crushed to death moments after crashing her car - when she was hit by another vehicle that skidded on the SAME patch of ice

Tragic: Sarah Roe, 32, had stepped out of her mangled car to use her phone when she was crushed by another car

A woman was killed seconds after surviving a crash when another car skidded on the same patch of ice and crushed her while she was on the phone, an inquest heard.
Sarah Roe, 32, was driving on the B4525 near Syresham, Northamptonshire, last year when she lost control and span into a concrete bollard on the opposite side of the road.
Moments later, after she had stepped out of her mangled car to phone her father, another vehicle veered off the road and crushed her against a metal telegraph pole.
An inquest at Northampton County Hall heard her father David, 61, heard the the moment her daughter was killed while he listened helplessly the other end of the phone.
The human resources manager suffered horrific injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.


Cornelius Doyle, the driver of the other car, only suffered minor injuries after veering off the road skidding 25 metres into Miss Roe’s car.
Yesterday, Northamptonshire County Coroner Anne Pember recorded a verdict of accidental death after hearing Miss Roe had been the victim of a 'tragic freak accident.'
Paying tribute to Miss Roe, from West Hunsbury, Northamptonshire, her devastated father tearfully told the inquest: 'What she was able to cram into her life would put most 80-year-olds to shame.
'We feel so blessed to have shared Sarah’s life.
'She had a great capacity to love and care for people, always putting their troubles, hopes and dreams before her own.

 

'If there was a problem to be shared she would halve it with comforting words, a hug or by cheering us all up in that special way only Sarah knew how.
'It has never seemed more fitting to say that it is better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all.

'We will think of her in the fondest way every time we dance, sing or bake.'
The inquest heard how a number of other drivers almost lost control in the same spot as Miss Roe shortly before she crashed.
Driver Nathan Stowe described the road on the day as the 'worst conditions he had ever experienced'
He added: 'I was lucky to avoid crashing into Ms Roe’s vehicle.'
Collision investigator PC Andrew Jeavons, from Northamptonshire Police, said: 'It appeared to be a totally freak and tragic accident.'
