Lucky driver Ash Locker survived this horror crash with nothing worse than a broken arm.His silver MG ZR was destroyed when he wrapped it around a tree.

Ash’s seat was snapped in half and he was hurled into the back of the car by the force of the impact.Fire crews feared the worst as they cut the shaken 21-year-old out of the wreckage.

But medics found that other than the broken arm, he had only suffered cuts and bruises. His mum Gill, 48, said: “We felt sick when we saw the pictures of the car. He was very lucky. He is happy to still be here.”

She added: “He was not trapped for very long. He had been flung into the back seat – but his seat belt was still on.”

Ambulance staff said Ash’s strong 6ft 3in, 18-stone frame helped him survive the crash.

He only needed to spend one night in hospital. Plates and screws have been inserted into his arm, and 11 stitches were sewn in a wound on his foot.

Ash, who wrote off the car in his hometown of Scarborough, North Yorkshire, where he lives with his mum, admitted on Facebook that he thought he might be the “luckiest person alive”
