Mr Rigby, a fine soldier, had recently fought in Afghanistan and was walking towards the Royal Artillery Barracks in Woolwich, south-east London, on Wednesday afternoon, when he was run down by a car on the pavement by the fanatics. He was hacked to death by the two men in the most gruesome manner.
